A passion of mine, for as long as I can remember, has been the joy of reading books. I could get lost for hours in the pages of a good novel in a way that a film doesn’t always quite measure up. A colorful imagination goes hand-in-hand with picture-less pages. I could visualize an entire world along with the words I read. The way a writer can paint a picture through rhetoric and eloquent vocabulary choices has always been a point of admiration in my life.

In my childhood, I emerged myself in the classics, such as Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, and Crime & Punishment. I enjoyed series of books such as The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of The Rings. I fell in love with modern sagas like Harry Potter & The Hunger Games. However, now as a young adult, I am immersing myself in a different genre. One that is certainly different from the escapism I found in fiction fantasy novels.
Life comes at us fast if we don’t pay attention to it. Books are an excellent tool for us to prepare for changes and educate us on how to handle these changes. As Paxton Hood once said, “Be careful of the books you read , as of the company you keep; for your habits and character will be as influenced by the former as the latter.
Alongside a good novel I am enjoying, I read at least 15 minutes a day of an educational book that can specifically help me in my everyday growth in achieving my goals. Whether it is aimed at better people-skills, how to manage my time, or how strengthen my relationships & faith.
I made a list of some of my favorites:
I highly recommend that you just give at least one of these books a try. They are truly life-changing and are very helpful in areas in our life that we typically don’t get formal education in.
Books are not a scary thing. Audiobooks are quite the hype too! What better than to drive & learn at the same time 🙂
