Siblings: The Friendship That Could

We love them all of the time and really don’t most of time… siblings.

Speaking as the oldest of three, I freely admit that my biggest arguments and fights have been shared with my siblings. My brother’s Autism (which you can read more about here.) has actually established a bit of independence from the typical sibling rivalry and fighting. However, my sister and I are ten years apart and we definitely have our differences. This past week I took the time to submerge myself into her summer surf camp with her and to cheer her on and she wiped out, got back on her board, and tried again. Just in that short week, we grew closer together.

Take the time to really know your siblings. Become friends. Blood may be thicker than water, but friendship can make it near unbreakable.
