5 Ways to Make Home-Sweet-Home Ever Sweeter
Sometimes being a homebody is last way you want to spend your weekend. But there are some great ways to spend your time at home without just sitting around doing laundry and watching Netflix. (although I do love my Once Upon A Time marathons…)
1. Prepare a home-cooked meal for your family/friends/significant other.
It doesn’t have to be a Thanksgiving feast. Let’s be honest: food is awesome. Add loved ones into the mix and you’ve got yourself a really awesome experience. So show your circle some love by putting that kitchen to good use. Microwaving doesn’t count!
2. Memorize a monologue, record yourself, and film yourself to watch afterwards.
Maybe I was always obsessed with doing this because, for a time, I was auditioning multiple times a week. But even now, all grown up, I find myself really enjoying stepping into a character-of-my-choosing’s shoes and letting my imagination flow. Try it – I dare you!
3. Re-read a book that you enjoyed as a child.
Whether it’s Dr. Seuss or J.K. Rowling, revisit a story that had you absolutely spellbound, (my nod to the Harry Potter series) as a child. As a teenager/adult, we can view stories differently through wiser eyes and our own past experiences.
4. Rearrange your space.
Cleaning isn’t only reserved for springtime! A change in pace can be necessary, so consider a change in space as well. Maybe moving a bed to a different wall or adding some artwork. Liven up the pad.
5. Start a blog of your own!
It doesn’t even have to be a personal journal of your thoughts – you can start any kind of blog you want. For free! There are all sorts of tutorials on the internet if you don’t know where to start. I suggest beginners make a Tumblr blog and remember to make it your own!
