I feel like July flew by in a total of about 3 days… and I’m pretty sure that’s the kind of talk I used to hear grown-ups saying all the time. Sigh…
No matter! It has been a brilliant few weeks and I’m looking forward to an incredible August. I hope that you’re enjoying your summer as well – whatever you’re up to! Don’t forget to make time for a little sunshine, if you can!
Here are some of my favorite things I’ve discovered in the month of July.
Music | Watching the Storm by U137
Put your headphones on. Turn up the volume. Close your eyes and just listen. I stumbled upon this little beauty randomly while listening to Spotify on one of my jogs. Which is hilarious because it was wedged in between some heavy dubstep number and a bubblegum pop anthem. It’s an absolutely gorgeous instrumental piece that will simultaneously encourage you to change the world, lay your head on the car window, and mentally visualize a movie trailer of your life. This song embodies freedom.
Book | “The Princess Bride” by William Goldman
If you can believe it or not, the first time I saw this movie was about four months ago. (I laughed, I cried… it was marvelous.) So then I thought, “Maybe I should read the book to further evaluate just how incredible this tale of love, adventure, and fire swamps is.” I was not disappointed. (I laughed and cried some more.) It was a fun escape after a long day of work, school, and all of the other tedious parts of life. There is a little something for everyone – mostly the child at heart.
You can purchase the ebook on Amazon.
Fashion | Nike Flyknit Lunar 3 Women’s Running Shoe
After years of using my bright pink freerunners from Nike (which I loved dearly), I finally pulled the trigger and bought myself a new pair of running shoes. It was like love at first sight. These shoes make me feel like I’m flying! I have the unfortunate predicament of flat feet but these puppies have the perfect amount of arch support. No more swollen arches! They are in Light Aqua, Persian Violet, University Blue, & Black. And I rock them EVERYWHERE.
You can purchase a pair at Nike.
Beauty | Herbivore Botanicals X UO Hair Perfume
“Who actually uses hair perfume?” was my only thought when a friend recommended it to me after I complained about the smokey odor of beach bonfire still slightly lingering to my hair after a good wash. But after one use, I was hooked! I chose the scent ‘rose’ which very much smells like a freshly picked flower. UO also offers a vanilla scent.
You can purchase this on Urban Outfitters.
