Universal Studios & Harry Potter!

Can I convey enough just how EXCITED I was to visit the world-renowned Harry Potter World at Universal Studios Hollywood?!?!?

Nope. No I can’t. I was ecstatic.

Everything that is Harry Potter related are some of my favorite things in the world. The books helped me through some of the toughest times of my life.

I even wrote Harry Potter fan fiction. Yup, you read that right. And I loved doing it!

So, you can imagine my elation when my parents offered to take me! My family is often all over the place & we haven’t done something with just the five of us (my parents, brother and sister and I) in awhile… So this was certainly the treat of all treats!

Before Harry Potter world, we decided to take the VIP tour of the Hollywood backlot. Here we are in front of the infamous Back To The Future clock tower!

We also had the great pleasure of standing in the same street Captain America (and countless others) ran down. It was interesting to see just how much a set can be altered to reflect any time period.

The tour included lots of familiar sets… Bates Motel & mother’s house from Psycho…

Cindy Lou’s house from Jim Carey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas…

Even the plane wreckage from War of the Worlds.

I particularly enjoyed the set created for anew show coming soon, “The Better Place.” It is supposed to reflect heaven.

Looks like there is a lot of yogurt in heaven!

Then it was time for the place I’ve been waiting to see… Hogsmeade!!!!

It was everything I’ve ever dreamed! The Forbidden Adventure ride inside the Hogwarts castle was so fun. I should’ve gone more than once for the full effect!

Plus, I had to try some frozen butterbeer.

Frankly, it was delicious. But it just a little to sweet for my everyday palatte. Definitely tastes like pure butterscotch & sugar in a cup. How the Golden Trio drinks this regularly and stays fit is beyond me!

All in all, I had an incredible time with my family. A huge thank you to our tour guide who also did an outstanding job entertaining us for hours!

If you get a chance to visit either Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA or Orlando, FL – make sure you give Harry Potter world a whirl!
