Flawless Has Many Faces
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
This proverb is generally quoted after Theodore Roosevelt and its been engrained in my mind since early adolescence. But… it isn’t always easy to remember in the moment, is it?
We live in a world that has transformed into the ultimate lookbook / highlight reel – and almost all of us take part in the show. Do not get me wrong: I really enjoy social media. I find it to be a great source of inspiration and an excellent tool for creativity and marketing. But what happens when the line between inspiration and envy blurs?
I find myself doing it on the daily – thinking everything from, “I wish my hair was that shiny,” to “I wish I had those public speaking skills.” We’re our our worst critic, but it can be even more challenging to accept ourselves when we idolize another.
What’s on your mind when you look into the mirror?
Being hypercritical of your image is a sure-fire way to kill your individuality. We’re all different & beautifully unique in our own ways. Different faces, voices, and lives… each of of us with a new story to write.
Be yourself – share yourself. You have a special place in the lives of others. Find it.
